The following is a list of five companies that hire freelance writers, giving them access to a wide variety of assignments. These platforms connect writers with clients. Each of these platforms are run by reputable companies, with good reputations. The pay varies significantly, depending, but each of them provides a legitimate source of work for writers.
They are not listed in any particular order.
1. Demand Media Studios is perhaps the most famous writing platform. They hire writers to produce content for websites such as eHow and Livestrong.
2. Writer Access is an ‘upscale’ content mill. They pay relatively well, and are known to treat their writers fairly. We’ve written a fair amount about them on Freedom With Writing, we even hired writers through them. It has always been a pleasant experience.
3. Textbroker is one of the largest writing platforms around. The pay starts relatively low, but there is known to be a steady supply of work available to writers.
4. eByline is a writing platform designed for professional freelance writers looking for well paying work. It can be difficult to be accepted into their platform, but the pay is well worth the effort.
5. Scripted has a wide variety of assignments available, including blogs, white papers, and even “tweets.” They generally pay between $10 and $25 per article.
This is just a few of the many writing platforms available online. There are many more, including GetaCopyWriter, Writers Domain, and Crowdsource.
