5 Blogs that Pay $50 Per Post

The following is a list of 5 websites that pay $50 for guest posts. They sometimes pay more, sometimes pay less. Keep in mind that you may still need to negotiate rates of pay, and it may change over time.

These blogs are mostly from established companies, startups, and professional organizations. In 2018, I would expect more companies to create niche blogs as part of their customer outreach. Blogging continues to be a growing opportunity for professional writers.

1. Freedom With Writing is currently seeking case studies from freelance writers. The case studies should show how the writer successfully got paid to write, including a sample pitch, conversation with a client, and/or other pertinent information. These case studies should be written as narratives, mixed with advice and straightfoward story telling. Here’s a good example., and for good measure, here is one more example. 2. Authors Publish pays $50 for featured articles about publishing and writing. They also pay around $500 for the ebooks on the topic of writing. Keep in mind they don’t publish creative writing; they’re focused on writing about publishing. To learn more, read their submission guidelines.

3. Longreads publishes high-quality long-form writing. They pay $500 for essays. Their editor has put together a guide to pitching her, as well as a detailed submission guidelines page.

They also publish shorter posts, reading lists, and interviews, and pay at least $250 for each.

They also pay at least $1,500 for investigative feature articles.

4. ZEAL is a blog that publishes writing on comics, games, and pop culture. They also publish original comics. They are “interested in writing on games that are not generally the target of serious criticism; games that are too weird, too bad, too forgotten, and too anime. ” They pay up to $100 per article, and up to $200 per comic. 5. Extra Crispy is a lifestyle blog owned by Time Inc. They publish “opinion pieces, reported stories, personal essays, works of humor, illustrated narratives, breakfast-y profiles, original recipes, how-tos and unusual points of view on the beloved morning meal are all welcome. ” Payment reports indicate a rate of 50 cents per word, but will need to be negotiated.
