Marie Claire is Seeking Pitches for their "Money" Issue

Marie Claire is a fashion publication for women with “a point of view and a sense of humor.”  According to payment reports, they pay an average of $1 per word. Their editor, Jenny Hollander, is currently seeking pitches for features for their upcoming “money” issue. Harpers is Seeking Long-form Reported Pieces and Essays

Harper’s Magazine is America’s oldest general-interest monthly magazine. The magazine provides its readers with a unique viewpoint on “politics, society, the environment, and culture.” Their associate editor Charlie Lee has a new role at the magazine, and is currently seeking pitches for long-form reported pieces and essays. Maisonneuve is Seeking Pitches for their Spring 2024 Issue

Maisonneuve is a Montreal-based quarterly of “arts, opinion and ideas.” They have a brand new Editor in Chief, Nour Abi-Nakhoul. They’re currently seeking pitches for their spring 2024 issue. According to their editor, their standard rate is 15 cents per word. Their articles range in length from 700 to 3500 words. To contact them, visit this page.

Vulture is Always Open to Pitches

 Vulture editor Emily Palmer Heller just Tweeted that they’re always open to pitches. Vulture is an entertainment news website for the culturally obsessed. Good Beer Hunting is Seeking Nature Stories

Good Beer Hunting produces “strategic beer brands, intellectually honest editorial, beverage industry analysis, and a deep-dive podcast.” Their editor Kate Bernot is currently seeking pitches for their Olly Olly vertical. The Media Co-Op is Seeking Pitches

The Media Co-op is “a coast-to-coast network of local media co-operatives dedicated to providing grassroots, democratic coverage of their communities and of Canada.” They recently posted a call for pitches on Twitter. They pay $100 to $250 per article. To learn more, refer to this page.

Xtra Magazine is Looking for Pitches

Xtra is a Canada-based digital magazine and community platform that covers LGBTQ2 politics, culture, sex, love, and health. Their senior editor is looking to connect with trans writers who cover health. They’re open to hearing from people worldwide, even though they usually have more US-Canada-centered stories. Cosmopolitan Is Accepting Pitches

Cosmopolitan is a women’s magazine for dating tips, sex advice, beauty tutorials, fashion trends, and more. Their Senior Features Editor is accepting pitches. The rate is $1.50-$2/word for 3,000 – 5,000 word articles. They are not looking for stories about artificial intelligence, abortion and reproductive rights, scammers, and true crime at this time. Stylist Magazine is Looking for Submissions

Stylist Magazine is a UK-based “agenda-setting media brand and advocate, leading the charge for women.” Their Fitness Editor is commissioning first-person experience pieces, gut health ideas, and hormone features. The rate is £180 per each article. For more information, see her tweet here.  

Kernel Magazine is Open for Pitches

Kernel Magazine is an annual print publication providing “a critical analysis of technological progress and regress while still charting a path forward.” Their editor-in-chief is open for pitches for their next issue with the theme of “Luck.” For more information, check out his tweet here

Nonfiction pieces pay between $200-350 depending on length and format (essay, interview, or software criticism). Creative pieces are $50-300, depending on the piece’s scale.

Lazo Magazine is Looking for Pitches

Lazo Magazine is a new, experimental online publication that uses multi-media storytelling. The publication’s premise is “stories that tie the world together,” focusing on content ” for and about travelers, i(e)mmigrants, expatriates, diasporas, minorities, dual citizens, third culture kids, and anyone crossing borders or thinking multiculturally.” Their editor is looking for stories about political and cultural pluralism. The pay is $400 for articles between 1,200-3,000 words.
