Esquire is a men’s magazine that covers news, politics, style, and more. Their Books and Fiction Editor is accepting freelance pitches on author interviews, author profiles, book round-ups, etc. about the publishing industry.  Rates start at $500 per piece. To submit a pitch, refer to this page

Insider editor Conz Preti is currently seeking pitches for:
– Breakup essays
– Unconventional relationships
– Relationships with a big age gap
– Grandparents breaking the rules
– Weird dates

Rewire is a nonprofit publication that delivers thought-provoking content that inspires young adults (under 40) to make their lives better. Their associate editor is currently seeking pitches on “abortion/pregnancy/voting/lgbtq+ issues.” To learn more, read this Tweet. According to their editor, they pay $250 for 800 to 1,000 words. The Muslim Monthly is a forthcoming publication. They are a “non-partisan but not centrist, monthly digital magazine that will cover political, social, cultural and religious issues from the perspective of Muslims living in the west — whether in the United States, Canada or Europe.” They are seeking writers for their inaugural issue. Statement Africa is a media company focused on the work of African creators. They seek to tell stories through their editorial blog covering Africa’s creative industries. Statement Africa regularly accepts pitches from freelance writers looking to write on African TV/film, music arts, etc. For more information on pitching them, click here

The Irish Independent is Ireland’s most-read news website. Their Features Editor is looking for original pitches from writers in Ireland for all Lifestyle sections of the publication. Savannah Agenda is an online news source seeking to encourage engagement and raise awareness of local matters. The editor/creator is looking for writers in the Savannah area but is also open to writers in surrounding areas including Chatham County,  unincorporated areas, or other municipalities like Tybee. Inverse is an online magazine that covers topics like science, innovation, entertainment, and gaming. Their deputy gaming editor is looking for video game story pitches and ideas for 2024.  The Lead UK is a micro-mag with a focus on politics and culture. They’re looking to commission original features, investigations, and essays on housing, climate/environment, immigration, and race. They are specifically seeking stories based outside of London and strongly encourage writers from diverse/underrepresented backgrounds to submit their pitches. Read their Twitter thread here.
