The Freeditorial Literary Contest: $15,000 Short Story Prize

The Freeditorial Literary Contest is currently hosting a short story writing competition. The grand prize is $15,000, with a second place prize of $5,000, and a third place prize of $2,000. Entry is free.

One caveat: Submissions will be left on their website perpetually, even if you are not the winner.

Writers can submit short stories of between 10,000 and 40,000 words that are fictional or historical. Over the course of the contest Freeditorial readers will have the ability to download the submitted stories for free, and the number of downloads will help determine the winner.

This is more of a ‘popularity’ contest than a strict writing contest. The winner will be determined primarily by the number of readers each story gets. In case that there are two stories with similar levels of readership, the winner will be determined by the Freeditorial editorial team.  Writer’s will be given access to a dashboard, where they can track their current rankings.

The deadline is July 31, 2016. To learn more, read the contest guidelines.
