Pockets Magazine: Up To $140 for Role Model Stories

Pockets magazine, a Christian publication, is seeking submissions on “Role Models” for an upcoming issue. The deadline is coming up very soon — March 1st, 2015 — so don’t delay if you plan to send them your writing.

They’re for 6-12 year old kids. They offer “wholesome devotional readings that teach about God’s love and presence in life. The content includes fiction, scripture stories, puzzles and games, poems, recipes, colorful pictures, activities, and scripture readings.”

They accept submissions of poetry, fiction, and scripture stories. They want writing that helps children deal with real life situations. They want their stories to be active and engaging. It’s for kids — and it should be fun!

According to writingcareer.com, payment is negotiated between the writer and the editor, and is usually 10-14 cents a word and $25 a photo. The word limit on stories is 1,000 words. That works out to a maximum of $140 a story.

To learn more, or to submit, be sure to read their complete guidelines. Remember, the deadline for the Role Models issue is March 1st, 2015.
