Chicken Soup for the Soul: Now Accepting Submissions for “My Very Good, Very Bad Dog”

Chicken Soup for the Soul is calling for submissions of stories and poems to their upcoming anthology “My Very Good, Very Bad Dog.”

They publish inspirational, true stories, about ordinary people having extraordinary experiences. For this anthology, they  want “your funny stories, your heartwarming stories, and your mindboggling stories about all the very good, very bad, simply amazing things that your dog does.

They have a 1,200 word limit. They have a number of suggested “dog topics” listed on their website. The deadline for submissions to this anthology is August 31st, 2015.

According to their website:

“If we publish your story or poem, you will be paid $200 ($100 for devotionals) one month after publication of the book and you will receive ten free copies of the book your story or poem appears in. You will also become part of the Chicken Soup for the Soul family, you will receive our exclusive contributors’ communiqué and you will be entitled to buy cases of books from us at a discount.”

They are also currently accepting submissions for several other upcoming anthologies, including:

  • Military Families
  • My Very Good, Very Bad Cat
  • Random Acts of Kindness
