Amazon recently launched a writing contest aimed at winning over readers in India. The contest has a prize of one million Indian Rupees, worth around $15,000 USD.

The contest is open to all books published in English on Amazon.in

The winner will be selected by a panel of judges.

Entry into the contest does require publishing your book on the Amazon Kindle, which would likely kill your chances of getting a traditional publishing contract for the book. However, if you were planning on self publishing, and your book is a good match for an Indian audience, then it is likely worth it to enter the competition.

The deadline for entry is November 10th, 2017.
