$50,000 for Writers and Artists — Creative Capital Funding (Application Information)

Creative Capital is an organization that gives money to writers and artists. A lot of money. To date, they’ve given $45 million dollars.

Each year, they fund artists in a huge range of disciplines, with direct funding up to $50,000 and other services worth up to $50,000. That adds up to $50,000. Not bad.

This is an opportunity open to writers and artists who are residents of the United States only.

Applicants also need to be working artists, with at least 5 years of experience, and be at least 25 years old.

According to their website:

Creative Capital helps visionary artists in all disciplines build thriving careers, and every year we review applications from artists ready to take the next step in their creative practices. The selected artists receive the Creative Capital Award, which includes up to $50,000 in funding for bold new projects, as well as a wide range of counsel, career development, and networking opportunities to make their work come to life.

Artists can submit their project ideas through a free application, open this year, from February 1 to March 1, 2021 at 4pm ET. This application helps us identify a selection of artists working at the forefront of their fields. It’s designed to provoke deep thought about project ideas to determine intention, impact, timeliness, and capacity.

The deadline to apply for this year’s grants is March 1st, 2021.
