A coalition of non-profit organizations is currently awarding $5,000 grants to artists in the U.S. Artists may be from a wide variety of fields, including writing, theater, and visual art.
Though they do appear to be offering a large number of grants, it is still expected to be highly competitive to receive one.
Please note, this is intended for practicing artists “able to demonstrate a sustained commitment to my work, career, and a public audience,” and who are also in “dire financial need.”
You are also welcome to apply on behalf of someone in need, with their consent.
There are a series of open application periods, as follows:
- Cycle I: April 8 – April 23 (closes 11:59pm ET)
- Cycle II: April 24 – May 20 (closes 11:59pm ET)
- Cycle III: May 21 – June 17 (closes 11:59pm ET)
