99Designs, the site for crowdsourced visual design, hosts a blog that pays for articles from individual authors. They “love articles on that give tips, offer practical advice, espouse opinions, teach, explain and inspire.” To learn more, read their submission guidelines.

Loaded Landscape pays $20 to $150 for articles and videos from regular contributors. They don’t pay for one-time contributions. Their articles ” include tips and tutorials, guides to locations of interest, showcases for inspiration, and interviews. Chicago Parent is a local parenting news magazine. According to their guidelines, “Reader Essays are a great way to get published. These parent essays are told in first-person in 400 to 500 words, with a provided photograph.” Payment for these is $50 to $100, depending on length. Payment for features begins at $100.
