Just updated! The Paid Publishing Guidebook has now been updated. It now includes 438 magazines, blogs, and websites that pay writers. Payment information is included for nearly all of the publishers.

I’ve removed quite a few publishers from the book who are now defunct. The publishing industry is still changing very quickly. New months appear and disappear in a matter of months –– established magazines that have been around for 20 years, or longer, have closed shop.

But there are still many opportunities available for freelance writers.

Keep in mind that some of the best opportunities come from working with private clients, as opposed to traditional publications. “Content marketing” has become a real thing: Businesses of all sizes are willing to pay for high-quality educational content for their blogs and newsletters. This article covers some of the ways you can get that type of gig.
