Hektoen International, the online journal of medical humanities, just launched their latest essay competition.
This competition is in honor of Hektoen Institute Board Member Mrs. Hella Mannheimer, who passed away in 2020.
Submissions should relate medicine to the humanities, and could include topics such as “art, history, literature, education, etc. as they relate to medicine.”
According to their contest page:
In Memoriam: Hella Mannheimer (1924-2020) was a longtime Board Member of the Hektoen Institute of Medicine and served as President of the Women’s Auxiliary Board.
