Dollars & Sense is Looking for Pitches about the Economy

Dollars & Sense publishes a bimonthly magazine and textbooks that cover economic news and analysis. Their editor is looking for pitches. They pay for “researched or reported articles on the economy from a left/progressive POV.” A few ideas they would love to see are:

– “Economists say the economy is going great; voters don’t. What gives?

– What the heck is the Fed doing? Is it even still about inflation?

– Macro and environmental effects of EVs and chips. A new scramble for raw materials?

– AI hype or reality?

– Effects of Biden bringing back student debt on the economy and on inequality in particular

– What would it actually look like, economically, to meet the CO2 reduction goals IPCC and others say are imperative?

Climate Home News is Looking for Stories on the Renewable Energy Supply Chain

Climate Home News covers global climate politics. They’re seeking story pitches from around the world on the renewable energy supply chain. They want stories that “spotlight bottlenecks, scrutinise key actors, and expose environmental impacts, and human and labour rights violations.” They also want stories that robustly examine solutions to these challenges. They will pay a reporting fee of approximately $1,600 per story and will also cover travel and accommodation expenses. Lonely Planet offers travel guides and information. Their senior destination editor for Western Europe is seeking a local Canary Islands writer for an upcoming guidebook project. Local means you either consider yourself from there or are presently living there and have for a long time. They will probably commission a small assignment first, which will start at $350. Maisonneuve is Looking for Pitches

Maisonneuve is a Montreal-based quarterly of “arts, opinion, and ideas.” They’re looking for pitches for their Winter 2023 issue which has no theme. They’re open to everything.
