Here’s our bi-weekly roundup of traditional jobs for writers. Included are companies such as IGN, the gaming media company, as well as Politico, and Rockstar games.

Orlando Informer is “a theme-park vacation-planning company.” They are looking for a Writer who will be “responsible for drafting comprehensive coverage of the latest theme-park news, often in a time-sensitive environment.” They want someone with at least 2 years’ professional journalism or marketing experience. They are seeking a Freelance Digital Copy Editor with 2 to 5 years of copy editing experience. This is a 1 year contract job that would require 30 hours/week of work. IGN is an Internet media company that covers video games, TV, movies, tech, and comics. They are hiring for the following positions:

• Streaming Editor. The successful candidate will lead their coverage of emerging and established streaming platforms. It would be extra awesome if the candidate is “comfortable on-camera and can speak extemporaneously on games and entertainment-related topics.” The job is full-time and based in Culver City, CA. The Athletic is a subscription-based sports media company. They are looking for:

• A Managing Editor to lead a growing staff of writers. Requirement: “10 years of experience in digital sports journalism, including at least five years of direct editorial management.” The job is full-time and based in Washington, DC.
• A Senior Editor, NHL to contribute to comprehensive editorial oversight of their NHL coverage. Requirement: “4+ years of experience in digital sports journalism, including at least two years of direct editorial management.” The job is full-time and based in the US or Canada. West Coast preferred.

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette is Western Pennsylvania’s largest local news organization. They are looking for a full-time Managing Editor who will oversee the daily digital and print news report. Requirements: “minimum of 10 years of journalism experience as an editor preferred” and “minimum of 7 years of management experience preferred supervising reporters, editors, visual and digital news teams and overseeing a budget.” The role is based in Pittsburgh, PA. MailOnline is “the world’s largest English-language newspaper website.” They are seeking “an experienced and talented Fashion Writer to join the New York Femail Fashion Finder desk as a freelancer covering day shifts (8am-5pm) as well as night shifts (3pm-12am), week days and weekends.” The job is full-time and located in New York, NY.
