The Flytrap has Partnered with the NWU

The Flytrap is “a media collective focused on feminist cultural criticism that responds to and engages with cultural phenomena, rejecting algorithmic editorial strategies.” The Flytrap is partnering with the National Writers Union (NWU) on freelancer policies. They will pay a minimum of $0.50 per word for written pieces, at least $400 per day for audio and podcast work, at least $300 to artists for illustrations, and at least $300 to roundtable panelists. Mommy Poppins is Looking for Freelance Writers

MIT Technology Review is Looking for Pitches on the Theme of Breakthroughs

MIT Technology Review is a media company that explains the commercial, political, and social impact of the newest technologies. For their print magazine, they’re seeking feature pitches on the theme of Breakthroughs. According to their pitch guide, the feature well of their magazine is devoted to “narrative features, investigations, big profiles, and reported essays (generally between 2500-4000 words).” Rate is $1 to $2 a word. The Black Ordinary is Seeking Pitches

The Black Ordinary is “a multimedia publication, online resource hub, and national database of community archives dedicated to preserving Black-American history and culture.” They’re currently looking for pitches for the first edition of their upcoming digital magazine. They welcome pitches from “artists, archivists, historians, researchers, and writers of all backgrounds and experience levels to pitch ideas for writing topics relevant to the preservation of Black-American histories and culture.” All contributors will receive a $250 stipend. More to Her Story is a newsroom dedicated to “improving the odds for women and girls.” They're currently accepting pitches. They publish investigative pieces, “day-after” pieces, and breaking news.
