Chicken Soup for the Soul Announces Last-Minute Call for Essays

Chicken Soup for the Soul just announced a last-minute call for essays, an extremely unusual move on their part.

They are seeking COVID-19 related essays for their July 2020 book about dogs.

This is a great opportunity, because they are not likely to get nearly the volume of submissions that they normally do, because of the very quick deadline.

According to their call for submissions:

This is a very quick callout for specific stories while we finish our upcoming July title, Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Magic of Dogs. We got so many great submissions for that title that we are well on the way to making our 2021 dog book as well, just with the stories we already have. But we’ve decided that we want to include stories about dogs and the COVID-19 crisis in this upcoming July 2020 edition.

You have one week! The DEADLINE for these extra submissions is this coming SUNDAY, APRIL 19th at midnight, Hawaii time.

Please share with us stories about your dog during the COVID-19 crisis.

To learn more, read their call for submissions here.

(A small note: At the time of publication, their website was down. We don’t expect it to down for long though, and will monitor the situation.)
