Chicken Soup for the Soul, the world-famous publisher of inspirational books, recently extended the deadlines for several of their upcoming anthologies of true stories.
This likely means that they haven’t received enough submissions of stories that fit their requirements, which is good news for skilled writers with the right stories to tell.
They pay $200 per story or poem, plus contributor copies.
The updated deadlines are:
- Age Is Just a Number / extended to May 31st, 2020
- Christmas Is in the Air / extended to April 30th, 2020
- Listen to Your Dreams / extended to March 15th, 2020
- Stories About Self Care and Me Time / extended to September 30th, 2020
They’re also currently accepting submissions for Stories of Divine Intervention until August 31st, 2020.
As the editor of Freedom With Writing, I’ve heard from many writers who have been published by Chicken Soup. I consistently hear positive things from these writers. It seems that getting published by them is a great experience.
One thing to keep in mind, though, is that they only respond to submissions that they intend to publish. They simply do not respond to submissions they aren’t publishing. (Which, I know, is not respectful to authors, but it is what it is.)
