17 Hobby and Craft Magazines that Pay Writers

This list of hobbies and crafts magazines covers a wide spectrum – gardening, fine book and coin collecting, scale modeling and railroads, jewelry making, needlecraft and weaving, general crafts including those for therapy, and amateur radio. Many of these magazines require clear photographs along with the article; some require the finished pieces/material to be mailed.

Facet

This is a resource for jewellery-making projects, and a sister publication of Bead & Button magazine. They want designs in these categories: stitching, stringing, metal, wire, clays, resin, fibre & cord, and other, in which projects incorporating glass are desirable; those including gemstones, cabochons, uncut stones or similar will be considered, but only if the project has components that can be substituted with ease. The pay is competitive, unspecified, and on acceptance. They pay expenses, if agreed upon in advance. This is an Australia-based independent crafts website. It was started to provide resources for teachers, therapists and art enthusiasts. Crafts listed include bead, bath and body, seasonal, group, home, kids, paper and crochet, sewing and scrapbooking crafts. The founders also run a charitable project called Bottles of Hope, providing Cancer patients with small decorative bottles.
