$1,000 Political Writing Contest

Splice Today is hosting a political writing essay contest on the topic of the U.S. Presidential primary.

The grand prize is $1,000. Second place is $500 and third place is $250.

The guidelines are simple:

“Tell us which candidates will win the Democratic and GOP nominations and compete for the presidency next November. The essay can be objective or partisan.”

The length should be 1,500-3,000 words.

The deadline is December 31st, 2015.

Splice Today defines its purpose as: “To provoke, irritate, delight and confuse readers who are bored or dissatisfied with current online journalism.”

They like iconoclastic writing that pushes boundaries. They don’t assume their “readers are brain-dead morons.” Clearly, they want spunk and personality in their writing.
