7 Magazines that Pay Writers $200+ Per Article

The following is a list of magazines that pay freelance writers for articles. All of the magazines listed accept submissions from freelance writers, and all of them pay writers. The list is in no particular order.

1. Blue Ridge Country is a regional magazine covering the Blue Ridge Region that extends “Western Maryland south through Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley of Virginia down into northern Georgia.” They focus on the places, history, nature, environment, and culture of the region. 2. Gather is the magazine for women members of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (the ELCA). The publish “theological reflections, devotions, and stories of comfort and challenge that help readers grow in faith and engage in ministry and action.” They’re published 10 times a year. 3. First Coast Magazine is a regional magazine that cover’s Florida’s First Coast. Similar to many regional magazines, they cover the local businesses, history, nature, and recreational activities of the region. Reports on Litworth indicate a payment rate of $0.20 per word.
