They accept essay pitches year-round. They are open now for general solarpunk submissions from all authors. They also accept translations. They have a themed monthly <a href=\"https:\/\/solarpunkmagazine.com\/monthly-micro-fiction-contest\/\">micro fiction contest<\/a>, too, which pays $25 to the winner. In March, they\u2019re open for submissions from underrepresented writers \u2013 \u201cauthors of color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and other underrepresented groups\u201d. They have extensive guidelines, including \u201cThis year we\u2019re looking for stories that explore the possibility of creating sustainable energy with alternative technologies and\/or social change.\u201d Stories without a speculative element will not be considered. They will also consider poetry. They publish flash, as well as short fiction. They are reading now for Issue 15.<br \/>\nDeadline: 2 May 2022<br \/>\nLength: Up to 5,000 words for a short story or a flash fiction collection<br \/>\nPay: $0.05\/word<br \/>\nDetails <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetscumm.space\/submit\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Gettysburg Review<br \/>\n<\/strong>They publish fiction (not genre fiction), poetry, and essays. In fiction, they publish short-shorts and novel extracts. Essays can be on literature, film, art, history, science, and contemporary thought, and can take any form \u2013 creative non-fiction, memoir, biography. Poetry can be short and long, and of any length or aesthetic bent. The magazine also publishes essay-reviews and artwork.
