They discuss the effects of mental health on the brain and the body. Their blogs are usually around 1,200 words. According to a now deleted Tweet by one of their editors, they pay \u00a385 for 700 words. To submit a pitch, refer to this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.inspirethemind.org\/submissions\">page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Breakdown<\/strong> is an online mental health magazine. They focus on \u201cmental health-themed lifestyle topics, including, but not limited to: personal essays, wellbeing, culture, parenting, sex &amp; relationships, men\u2019s mental health, body image, mental health research and news.\u201d They publish personal essays, opinion pieces, features, investigative reports, explainers, gift-guides, and listicles. They pay \u00a380 for 700 to 900 words and \u00a3100 for columns. For more information, read their <a href=\"https:\/\/the-breakdown.co.uk\/write-for-us\/\">pitching guidelines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>YR Media<\/strong> is \u201ca national network of young journalists and artists who create multimedia content for this generation.\u201d They welcome story submissions from contributors of all skill levels. They want stories that are produced by\/for a young audience (late teens to late twenties) and that include people\/places that are not always covered by traditional news sources. The stories should have strong visual elements e.g. photos, illustrations, videos, etc. They pay all their contributors. According to their senior mental health and wellbeing <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/LTintheCity\/status\/1350159661266296832\">editor<\/a>, they pay $150 per post. They feature stories that inspire others and generate discussion and awareness. They offer an honorarium of $250 for accepted posts. Their senior health and food editor is seeking pitches on \u201cnutrition, mental health, gut health, and menstrual health.\u201d Their rates generally start at around $150. They want strong, entertaining, and compelling articles that will hold the reader&#8217;s attention. They publish feature length articles as well as shorter pieces. Baseline pay is $0.15 per word.\u00a0 <span class=\"InternetLink\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thehealthjournals.com\/editorial\/\">http:\/\/www.thehealthjournals.com\/editorial\/<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Greatist<\/strong> covers \u201call things healthy, providing the most trusted and fun fitness, health, and happiness content on the web.\u201d They are looking for stories for their Unfiltered section (which covers mental health, relationships and life in general for 20- and 30-somethings today). You can contact them <a href=\"https:\/\/greatist.com\/drop-us-line\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Imprint<\/strong> (formerly The Chronicle of Social Change) is \u201can independent, nonpartisan daily news publication dedicated to covering the child welfare, juvenile justice, mental health and educational issues faced by vulnerable children and families.\u201d They previously indicated payment of $125 per reported story (900 words). They pay $50 for the article they publish. They prefer pitches instead of completed articles. To learn more, read their <span class=\"InternetLink\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.anxietyfoundation.com\/contributors\/\">submission guidelines.<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"PublisherName\">ADDitude Magazine<\/span> <\/strong>\u2013 The leading destination for families and adults living with ADD and learning disabilities, ADDitude is mostly written by journalists and mental health professionals, but they also accept articles by parents who have personal experience with ADHD and learning disabilities. Check out ADDitude\u2019s writing guidelines <span class=\"InternetLink\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.additudemag.com\/adhd\/writers-guidelines.html\">here<\/a><\/span>. Bonus: ADDitude is looking for parent bloggers, so if you want to share your journey raising a little one who has ADHD, get your butt over to that link and scroll to the bottom for more info.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"PublisherName\">Better Humans<\/span> <\/strong>offers a collection of self-help and self improvement articles. They accept pitches for commissioned articles, which usually pay $500. They publish fiction, non-fiction, poetry, book reviews, and visual art. They pay $50 per page, up to 15 pages. Payment reports indicate that they pay up to $0.09 per word.
