It Gets Even Better: Stories of Queer Possibility<\/strong>
They want speculative fiction for this anthology, stories about positive queer possibility. Their guidelines say, \u201cStories may feature near-future social and political change, far-future imaginings of new societies, alternate universes with completely different systems of gender and relationships, alternate histories proposing better outcomes for true events of the past, creative explorations of queer identity\u2014any kind of speculative fiction that posits queer affirmation and joy … please submit to us only if you are comfortable with “queer” being used to describe your story.\u201d All kinds of representations of queer identities are welcome. Writers can submit up to three stories at once (see guidelines). They also accept reprints (audio rights must be available).

Goodman Publications: Tales From The Magician\u2019s Skull
<\/strong>This is a sword and sorcery magazine and their goal is to publish twice-yearly. From their \u2018What we love\u2019 section: \u201cSword-and-sorcery, heroic fiction, sword-and-soul, swashbucklers, and the like. Tales of adventure shot through with elements of horror and magic. Give us interesting people doing interesting things for interesting reasons in fascinating places.\u201d See guidelines for further details on story preferences and tropes to avid. Stories have to be PG-13. They have limited tolerance for flash fiction.

The deadline is for unsolicited submissions; they read work submitted by literary agencies year-round.

<\/strong>This is a magazine of speculative fiction. They specially welcome work from groups that are under-represented or have been marginalized in the genre.
