When we’re putting together these lists, our general policy is to limit it to publishers that are offering at least $50 per article. I know for many writers that would be woefully inadequate, while other writers would find that more than acceptable. We’ve had a lot of discussions about the “cutoff” point, in terms of pay. Our general thinking is that there is little harm in making pay rates transparent, as much as possible, even if they are low.
