They read short fiction, excerpts from novels, creative nonfiction, and poetry. They publish a chapter of a novel, but only if it can be read complete in itself as a short&nbsp;story. They also accept nonfiction and poetry (no \u201clight\u201d or inspirational poetry). We run the spectrum from grim realism or crime drama, to magic-realism, to blatantly supernatural dark fantasy. We publish highly literary stories reminiscent of Poe or Lovecraft as well as vulgar shock-value pulp fiction\u201d, according to guidelines. They have opened a submission call for reprints only. The call is open to both publishers who have printed horror, and to authors who have written and published the stories for anthologies and collections. They also accept flash series, of three or more stories around a theme; each story needs to stand on its own. They may publish dark fantasy, but they try not to publish pure horror. They also publish artwork.<br>Deadline: Ongoing<br>Length: 100-1,500 words<br>Pay: $0.08\/word<br>Details <a href=\"https:\/\/dailysciencefiction.com\/submit\/story\/guidelines\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Planet<br><\/strong>This Welsh magazine was established with the aim of creating a forum for debate about Wales in English, as well as encouraging a dialogue between English-speaking Wales and Welsh-speaking Wales. They publish unsolicited fiction and poetry. They also accept pitches for articles. Their guidelines also say, \u201cWe are particularly interested in seeing work that connects in some way with the broad range of issues and concerns of the magazine.\u201d<br>Deadline: Ongoing<br>Length: 1,500-2,500 words for fiction in the print magazine; 4-6 poems; 600-1,000 words for online material<br>Pay: \u00a340 per 1,000 words for prose (or part thereof), \u00a330 per poem for the print magazine; \u00a330 for online material<br>Details <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planetmagazine.org.uk\/submissions\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Aggregate<br><\/strong>They are always looking for quality fiction for their anthology of short stories. They want solid, creative short stories. Their guidelines say, \u201cWe tend toward science fiction and horror, but prefer to think of genre as a loose categorization at best. Experimental fiction is welcomed, and even strongly encouraged. Strong consideration will be given to stories that explore the sociological and psychological. We\u2019re not particularly concerned about the location or time in which the story takes place, or the use of supernatural or non-supernatural elements.\u201d There is no deadline \u2013 as soon as they finish work for one anthology, they start selecting stories for the next one.
