The deadline for The Nobrow Short Story Competition is approaching very quickly \u2013 December 9th!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Run by the established press, Nobrow, they are seeking entries of short stories on the theme “The Censor.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Nobrow is known for visually appealing books, with very good distribution in libraries and bookstores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The contest is open to writers from around the world. It is also extremely easy to enter this contest, via email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That is why we are delighted to announce we are running the Nobrow Short Story Competition<\/strong> for writers! Up to twelve winning entries will be published in our short story anthology, and this beautifully illustrated book will celebrate the best short fiction and non-fiction writing.\u00a0<\/p>
Our theme is \u2018The Censor\u2019<\/strong>. You can interpret this in any way you wish \u2013 it could represent censoring of the past, present and future; the self; the state; or the effects of censorship on everyday life. As a provocation we hope our theme can provide a rich vein of storytelling inspiration for anyone wishing to take part in the competition. We are looking for inclusive, surprising, ingenious and diverse responses that capture our minds and hold us until every word is devoured.\u00a0<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
They are offering over $4,500 (USD) in prizes, paid in British Pounds, including a \u00a32000 grand prize, plus eleven runners’ up prizes of \u00a3150.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
All of the winning entries will be published in an illustrated book, which is sure to be beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
