There is no required theme, but\nanything to do with the themes usually explored in Fiddler\u2019s Green, like magic,\nindividualism, or iconoclastic approaches to spirituality, will be most\nwelcome. They want dark speculative fiction\nfeaturing one (or more) classic monsters (vampires, mummies, mad scientists,\nzombies), but in space. Their guidelines say, \u201cWe want to see these creatures floating around in zero g,\nattacking astronauts and colonists, and generally menacing those brave enough\nto go beyond the confines of our pale blue dot.\u201d Also, \u201cEach story must take\nplace somewhere other than the Earth. It can happen on a spaceship, on a\ncolony, on a new terraformed planet. There should be humans involved, but they\ndo not have to be the protagonists.\u201d&nbsp;Stories must feature at least one\nclassic monster.
