Food should be integral to the story in some way, but not the entire focus. The plots can revolve around a wide range of cultures and belief systems, science and superstition, settings in the future or past. Their guidelines say, \u201cFiction reminiscent of <em>The Twilight Zone, Black Mirror, Tales from the Crypt,<\/em> and <em>Tales from the Darkside.<\/em> We want stories with complex characters and ideas spun in ways nobody\u2019s ever conceived.\u201d See guidelines for the kind of stories they\u2019ve seen far too many times (including haunted GPS and anything involving zombies). They will accept mailed submissions only for Working Titles between May 1 and September 30, when regular submissions are closed for The Massachusetts Review.
