\n<\/strong>This is a \u201cvoice-driven literary journal with a pop culture twist.\u201d They accept fiction, poetry, memoir, and artwork. Interviews and reviews are unpaid. They have fee-free submissions for a few months in a year, including December. They want mainstream, literary or experimental writing, but no genre fiction.

\n<\/strong>They want story submissions for a fantasy anthology. Material should be PG-13. Their guidelines say, \u201cWe’re leaning towards fantasy in terms of myth and magic, swords and sorcery, but not wanting to define it too tightly \u2013 not least because we are encouraging submissions from different cultural backgrounds and don’t want a label to discourage that. That said, urban fantasy might not be the best of fits \u2013 though the right tale might hit the mark.\u201d

Third Flatiron: Hidden Histories
\n<\/strong>This speculative fiction publisher wants stories on the theme of Hidden Histories for their next anthology. Their guidelines say, \u201cA secret history (or shadow history) is a\u00a0revisionist interpretation of either fictional or real history which\u00a0is claimed to have been deliberately suppressed, forgotten, or ignored\u00a0by established scholars. Your tale can be based in the real world,\u00a0past, present, or future, as long as it has a speculative fiction\u00a0element. We’re not exactly looking for alternate history, but there\u00a0can be a fork in the road timewise.\u201d See guidelines for details of the aesthetic.
