{"id":5135,"date":"2018-07-17T08:58:43","date_gmt":"2018-07-17T15:58:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.freedomwithwriting.com\/freedom\/?p=5135"},"modified":"2018-07-17T10:16:00","modified_gmt":"2018-07-17T17:16:00","slug":"10000-short-story-contest-free","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.freedomwithwriting.com\/freedom\/uncategorized\/10000-short-story-contest-free\/","title":{"rendered":"$10,000 Short Story Contest (Free)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p dir=\"ltr\">The Story Shares organization has officially launched their 2018 Story of the Year writing contest, with the goal of creating more \u201cjust-right\u201d book choices for the millions of teens and adults around the world who struggle with reading.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">This year&#8217;s writing contest includes total prizes of $10,000 USD.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The prizes are, as follows:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">$3,000 Diversity Award<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">$5,000 Texas Award (Must be set in Texas.)<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">$2,000 Character Based Award<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The contest is open internationally to writers around the world.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Story Shares books are being used by tens of thousands of students across all 50 states and more than 80 countries to improve their literacy skills.
