This year&#8217;s theme asks you to answer a simple question: &#8220;What was the happiest moment of your life?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The winning essay will win a $3,000 prize.<\/p>\n<p>The deadline to enter the contest is September 18th, 2017.<\/p>\n<p>The winner will be determined by the editors and contributors to Real Simple. They will be judged on &#8220;originality (25 percent), creativity (25 percent), use of language (25 percent), and appropriateness to contest theme (25 percent).&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The essays must be non-fiction.<\/p>\n<p>The contest is only open to residents of the United States.
