They are seeking short stories with a metaphysical slant \u2013 &#8220;fiction that questions consensual reality and pushes the boundaries of genre.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to their website:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>At their heart, all metaphysical stories contain an ontological dilemma, or as the Turkey City Lexicon calls it, a riff &#8216;suggest(ing) that our deepest and most basic convictions about the nature of reality, space-time, or consciousness have been violated, technologically transformed, or at least rendered thoroughly dubious.'&#8221;<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>They are open for submissions until October 31st. They pay 6 cents per word, up to a maximum of $200.
