Story Houston <\/strong>is now accepting submissions for their Fall\/Winter issue. They accept short stories and creative non-fiction up to 5,000 words in length. They pay $200 per published stories. They were “founded to encourage and support developing writers in the Houston area and beyond.” They seek to publish writing that appeals to a broad audience \u2013 “anyone who loves a good story.” Here are their submission guidelines.<\/a><\/p>\n 3. How to Help<\/strong> is looking for creative non-fiction stories about “how people have meaningfully aided you as a cancer patient, and what you have found most valuable in terms of support.” They pay $150 per selected essay, and one copy of the book.
