They are open now, or will soon open for submissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Orange &amp; Bee<\/strong><br>They want fiction, poetry, and non-fiction \u201cthat engage in a significant way with the long history of fairy tales. The stories need not teach a moral, or be close to an approved theological position, or be pro-Christian. They also accept translations and reprints. Art is accepted through the year. They have detailed guidelines.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br>Deadline: 31 July 2026<br>Length: Up to 10,000 words<br>Pay: $0.08\/word<br>Details <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mysteriononline.com\/p\/submission-guidelines.html\">here<\/a>.<br><strong><br>Haven Speculative<br><\/strong>They publish speculative fiction and poetry. They have Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall submission periods. \u201cOur submission cycle is split into four reading periods, each containing three parts: a month explicitly reserved for submissions by authors of color, members of LGBTQIA+ communities, and writers belonging to other underrepresented groups; a month open to general submissions, during which anyone may submit; and a month in which we&#8217;re closed to submissions so that we may do the difficult (and exciting!) work of choosing content for future issues.\u201d<br>Till 31 July 2026, they want submissions from underrepresented writers only; \u201cauthors of color, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, and other underrepresented groups.\u201d They also publish climate crisis focused <strong>Dry<\/strong> and <strong>Wet<\/strong> issues each year; scroll down on the guidelines page for these themes. And, &nbsp;\u201cAlthough any science fiction subgenre is fair game, our tastes lean towards slipstream, cyberpunk, post-apocalypse, and anything with a little taste of the bizarre. FF prefers character-driven stories, and often skews towards quiet, reflective pieces. If the primary tone of your story is one of high adventure or humour, it\u2019s probably not the right fit for FF. Feign seeks stories that entertain, surprise, and devastate.\u201d Submission is via a form on the website.<br>Deadline: Open now<br>Length: Up to 6,000 words<br>Pay: $50<br>Details <a href=\"https:\/\/www.feignlit.com\/submit\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong><br>Cleaveland Review of Books<\/strong><br>They accept pitches and submissions of critical essays \/ reviews from writers in Cleveland and Ohio, as well as the Rust Belt and greater Midwest, but a regional connection is not a requirement.
