Some of them also accept other genres, like non-fiction and poetry.<br><strong><br>Shoreline of Infinity<\/strong><br>Their guidelines say, \u201cWe are looking for engaging science fiction, stories that give reality a tweak on the nose \u2013 an idea that makes us stop and think.\u00a0<br>The stories we publish are both entertaining and challenging, exploring the world both as it is and as it could be. We want to push the boundaries of the genre, while maintaining a link to its rich and global history. The magazine \u201cpublishes hopeful short stories and poetry that strive for a utopian ideal, that are set in futures where communities are optimistically struggling to solve or adapt to climate change, to create or maintain a world in which humanity, technology, and nature coexist in harmony rather than in conflict. We also publish solarpunk art as well as nonfiction that explores real world, contemporary topics and their intersection with the solarpunk movement for a better future.\u201d Also, \u201cAny genre of science fiction, interstitial fiction, magic realism, or fantasy has potential as a solarpunk forum\u2014we welcome robots and elves with equal excitement.\u201d The kind of work they want is described on their Moksha submission page, as well as the guidelines page. We\u2019re open to most subgenres and themes but have a particular fondness for compelling adventures, folk-retellings, stories of hope in the dark, emotional healing, love of all sorts, environmentalism, and the humanity (or lack of it) among the fantastical and speculative.\u201d They also accept speculative poetry (up to 40 lines) &amp; prose (up to 600 words). They accept submissions until the deadline, or until a cap is reached. For fiction, \u201cWe are looking for fully realized stories that remind us of what it means to be human, that take risks, that show us something new, and that stand up over multiple reads, deepening with each encounter.\u201d They will close on 31 January, or when they reach their submission cap, whichever is earlier.<br>Deadline: 31 January 2025, or until filled<br>Length: Up to 6,000 words for prose, 3-5 poems<br>Pay: $50; and $15 for poets and artists whose work appears in <em>The Take: Mud Season Review<\/em><br>Details <a href=\"https:\/\/mudseasonreview.com\/submit\/\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/mudseasonreview.submittable.com\/submit\">here<\/a>.<br><strong><br>Mysterion<\/strong><br>They want science fiction, fantasy and horror stories that engage meaningfully with Christian themes, characters or cosmology. The stories need not teach a moral, or be close to an approved theological position, or be pro-Christian. They are especially interested in stories that show Christians from cultures beyond those of the United States, Canada, and Western Europe. They also accept translations and reprints. They have two annual reading periods for fiction, January and July.
