Most of them also accept other genres, like non-fiction and poetry. <strong>&#8211; S. Kalekar<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Haven Speculative<\/strong><br>They publish science fiction and fantasy \u2013 fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and art. The publish climate-crisis focused work twice a year, in their Wet (published in September) and Dry (published in March) issues. They have extensive guidelines, including on the special issues. They also accept translations. They do not want reprints. They have recently changed their submission schedule, and they now accept submissions via a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.havenspec.com\/forms\">form<\/a>.<br>Deadline: 7 April 2024<br>Length: Up to 6,000 words for fiction, up to 1,000 words for nonfiction, and up to 5 poems<br>Pay: $0.08\/word for prose, $20 for poetry<br>Details <a href=\"https:\/\/www.havenspec.com\/submit\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Electric Lit<br><\/strong>They accept flash prose, poems, and graphic narrative for The Commuter section (up to 1,500 words), and longer fiction for their Recommended Reading section (2,000-10,000 words); and essays (2,000-6,500 words) are open, as well.All three sections opened on 1<sup>st<\/sup> April, and will stay open for two weeks for non-subscribers, or until they reach a submission cap. They accept fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and submissions for their \u2018Table Talk\u2019 column.<br>Deadline: 15 April 2024<br>Length: Up to 4,000 words for stories or memoirs, 1,200-2,500 for critical articles, up to 1,000 words for Table Talk, up to 100 lines for poems<br>Pay: $400 per story or article, $200 per poem or Table Talk piece<br>Details <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threepennyreview.com\/submissions\/\">here<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.threepennyreview.com\/online_submissions\/\">here<\/a>.<br><br><strong>Astrolabe<\/strong><br>They want \u201cwork about how we seek out, discover, and grasp onto connection. Into the woods. Across a line. Beneath the ocean. Along a seam. Into the branches of an alternate present or the crevasse of an alternate future. Across the rifts between one another. And then, once we find one other, the myths we make. We\u2019re excited to see as many interpretations of this broad theme as there are stars in the night sky. They accept short stories, novellas, poetry, and comics.\u00a0They take all genres of fiction, not just pulp \u2013 including fantasy, romance, mystery, literary. They do not publish non-fiction, memoir, or children\u2019s stories. They take more short fiction than novellas, and stories under 5,000 words have the best chance of publication. They also publish reprints. Their <a href=\"https:\/\/psychopomp.com\/about\/\">website<\/a> says, \u201cPsychopomp.com is a Vermont-based small press that publishes otherworldly fiction and rad, gothy essays, as well as a little magazine about death you may have heard of called The Deadlands.\u201d For fiction, they want stories that contain one (or more) of the elements they\u2019ve listed, including (but not limited to) stories where grief or loss play a leading role, stories that feature the afterlife or the underworld, stories that take place in, or utilize a multiverse, and stories that involve time travel (esp. those that involve time travel + a previously mentioned theme).
