Bitch Magazine is calling for themed submissions for their upcoming issue on “Revenge.”
The magazine is focused on presenting thoughtful feminist responses to pop culture. They define pop culture as “encompassing cultural attitudes and myths, phenomena of the popular imagination, and social trends as well as movies, TV, magazines, books, advertising, and the like.”

Maybe Confucius was only half right about the two graves thing. Sometimes an act of revenge ends badly, but an act of vindication can feel distinctively sweet. What are the perils and possibilities within revenge?
Keep in mind they want essays strongly focused on the intersection of of feminism, pop culture, and the theme “revenge.”
The focus on the essays should not be just a first-person perspective. It is highly recommended that you read a few issues or articles before submitting. They have published quite a bit on their website, which should be a great help in researching your pitch.
They pay all of their writers. Payment is generally $500 for features, $200 for dispatches, and $50 for Department of Everything pieces.
