2. Radish Magazine is a monthly magazine “dedicated to improving our readers’ health through the natural foods, products and services of western Illinois and eastern Iowa.” They pay $50-$150 per article. To learn more, read their submission guidelines.
3. FireRescue is a professional magazine for firefighters. They are “devoted to the interests of firefighters worldwide.” They want articles about specific tactics and techniques to be used in the field. They don’t list their pay, but sources say it ranges from $50-$400.
4. Horse Illustrated is the premier magazine for horse owners and riders. They publish tips on horse care, training, and alerts about issues in the equine community. Their website pays up to $150 for articles. Expect more for the magazine. To learn more, read their submission guidelines.
5. HOW is a business magazine for graphic designers. They’re 75% freelance written. They publish articles about industry trends, outstanding design examples, profiles, business tips, technology, etc. They pay $250-$800. They also offer a 20% kill fee. Bonus: Porthole Cruise Magazine is a consumer magazine for cruises. They publish travel articles focused on cruiseships. They don’t list pay, but I would expect it to be more than fair. To learn more, read their submission guidelines.
