Black Youth Project focuses on the thoughts and actions of Black millennials. They have tweeted, “BYP is accepting pitches for Black Women’s History Month. Throughout the month we will be uplifting the voices of Black women and femmes. It is also Autism Awareness, Sexual Assault Awareness, and Child Abuse Prevention month.” They pay $100 per piece (800+ words). If interested, email your pitches to info@blackyouthproject.com. Into is an LGBTQ+ magazine for the next generation. They’re looking for pitches from queer writers with intersectional identities, interesting takes on pop culture, and a love of queer media old and new. BIPOC writers are highly encouraged to pitch, especially Black/brown folks, disabled folks, and folks on the spectrum. According to the editor “Even if you think it’s “not queer enough”, we want to read it. We especially love to read first-person narratives, TikTok journalism, oral histories, random appreciations, and cerebral nonsense. Think Rookie meets Butt Magazine meets GayLetter.” They pay $100-$250 for pieces around 1,500-2,000 words. To pitch, email henry@intomore.com.

Scouted is a shopping and product recommendations vertical from the Daily Beast. They are looking for pitches. They want first person reviews (around 400 words) for the following categories: home, food and beverage, sexual wellness products, CBD, clothing/shoes, and travel. Rate for reviews starts at $100. Fanfyte is Fanbyte’s wrestling section. They are looking for wrestling pitches. They want features, op-eds, interviews, and listicles. The Trouble is a magazine that focuses on the development of political strategies to confront climate change. They are looking for “pitches that critically engage with Andreas Malm’s new book, How To Blow Up A Pipeline.” According to payment reports, they pay $150 to $250 per piece. NBCLX is NBCUniversal Owned Television Stations’ TV and streaming network that targets adults 18-45. They are seeking “freelance writers with an interest or expertise in environment, technology, digital culture, race, and gender.” They are looking for “everything from short-form pieces that help people get involved to in-depth features.” Their rates start at $200 per piece. i-D is a fashion and style publication by Vice Media. Their news editor is open for pitches. She likes “digital/pop culture stories, deep dives into weird online shit, opinion pieces, anything except first person narratives.” Most of their articles are 1,000 words. Sesi is a quarterly print magazine for Black girls aged 13 to 19. They celebrate Black girls and their culture by covering fashion, beauty, health, relationships, careers, social issues, and entertainment. CafeMom is a website for mothers and mothers-to-be. They cover pregnancy, parenting, lifestyle, celebrity news, and more. They are looking for a Black father to write a 500-word essay. Failed Architecture (FA) is “a research platform that aims to open up new perspectives on urban failure – from what it’s perceived to be, what’s actually happening and how it’s represented to the public.” They are accepting pitches. They want fresh and compelling perspectives on urban or architectural issues. Submissions can be general reflections, case studies, opinion pieces, reviews, interviews, photographic essays, etc. They are paying €150 per article (around 1,500 words). Cool Accidents is an Australian music and pop culture website. Their editor is looking for cool hip hop/rap/pop-focused pitches (that are a bit more evergreen) from Australian music writers. Ms. Magazine is a liberal feminist magazine. They are accepting article pitches for their June/July “The Future is Ms.” column from teen girls. The pitches should “highlight on a newsworthy teen who is making an impact on the lives of other teen girls on a feminist issue.” The articles should be US-based. Pay is $100 per article. gal-dem is a British online and print magazine that is dedicated to sharing the stories of women and non-binary people of color. Their music editor is looking for pitches. She has tweeted, “I get a lot of ppl wanting to do interviews (valid ofc) but I would love to be running more opinions, love letters to albums + artists, insights into trends + global scenes, untold histories from our music communities.” They are committed to sharing the voices of people of color from marginalized genders.
