Revolution Magazine is a Medium publication about music. Their goal is to pay ARMY (the official fan club of a South Korean boy band named BTS) to write about BTS and the music industry. Lacuna Voices is a UK-based digital space that showcases beautiful, worthy true-life features. They have tweeted, “Pitches wanted. We are commissioning first-person stories for our family, Lacuna men, and careers sections. All writers and communities welcome. Writers of colour, you do not need to write about your lived trauma to be featured on our pages. We want to hear about all issues that impact our writers: stories of hope, love, relationships, sexuality, careers, parenting, family dynamics, Lacuna men etc. We don’t need any health/mental health/opinion pieces or covid hooked ideas.” Case studies are also welcome. The Fence is a London-based independent quarterly magazine. They ship internationally but focus around life in the capital. They are seeking “reported features, insider exposés, gossipy tell-alls, personal pieces and more” for their next issue. They especially welcome pieces with a comic twist. They are interested in: “high fashion, low culture, short sellers, long cons, corruption, incompetence, the civil service, purely bats British shit and letters from far-flung places.” According to one payment report, they paid £100 for a 1,200-word feature. Business Insider is a website that covers business, financial, and technology news. Their newly appointed commissioning editor is seeking pitches for business-related reported pieces. Boston Magazine covers Boston’s news, politics, real estate, travel, culture, food, and more. Their senior digital editor has tweeted, “I’m looking for cool/quirky local travel or things to do ideas. We skew towards guide format, but the ideal version is something you can do either in Boston or a short drive away, safely and probably outdoors. ‘Hidden gems’ is a favorite phrase of ours around here, so keep that in mind for any roundups.
