Serviette is Accepting Pitches for Issue 08
Serviette is “a magazine about all things food: where it comes from, how it’s grown, who transforms it and how it’s a huge part of our daily lives.” They’re accepting pitches for Issue 08:
“If you’re a writer, photographer or illustrator with a great idea about how what we eat is mixed up with culture, creation, science and history, send it our way!
In Issue 08, our theme is Food is Vice. This means it's time to make like baddies and call up your best shady ideas. That might be tracking the history of digestible drugs (from wild mushrooms to store-bought edibles), examining how substitute sugars could be worse than the real thing or uncovering a market of illegal food imports. Know of a chef or food researcher working on something sinful? We want to hear about all of it.
You could also take us on a tour of the best wings on offer at strip clubs in your city, to French patios where puffing cigarettes is still allowed despite the long-gone North American smoking section or into Silicon Valley where Soylent was a canary in the coal mine of tech bro culture.”
If interested, send your ideas for reported stories, profiles, personal essays, Q&As, infographics, photo essays or comics to hello@serviettemag.com. Rate is $1 per word. To read their post, click here. To visit their contact page, click here.
